I have figured out how to get my CD to actually eject from the drive but I am wondering if anybody knows what my problem may be? Do I need a new drive or is it something that might be stuck in the actual foam part (not sure what is there) as you insert the disk. Any suggestions would be helpful!

If it is a new drive that I need, how much do those run??

Thank you.

Does this happen all the time? It is not unusual to have the odd DVD that won't eject.

The main culprits for a "This is disk is in use" error is QuickTime and Preview. Even when they don't have content showing they will still hold onto the disk. Always ensure they have quit.

If you hold down the (left) mouse button when a Mac boots it should eject whatever disk is in a drive.

How do you try to eject things? Is it the internal drive or an external drive? Which Mac model do you have?
