Hi daveflem,

I have AOL set up via Mail. What settings are you using? The correct settings for AOL are:

Account type: IMAP
Incoming server: imap.aol.com
Username (your aol screename)
Password (your aol password)

Outgoing server: smtp.aol.com (you must set this up for each account and you must ensure that the correct one is used when sending mail)

Click on server settings and you should have:

Server port : 587
Do NOT tick SSL
Authenitcation: Password
Username
Password - these both need filling in with your aol screename and password.

I would imagine your .mac account will use POP3 so needs setting up with this, and will also use a different sever port for outgoing and incoming - what settings do you have?

Have you tried either taking the period out from in between your first and last name for your user name and, or adding a colon followed by your user name after the smtp.mac.com for the outgoing server?

It was only a good observation because I supply support for a hosting company, and when we get tickets relating to the inability of sending or receiving mail, it is always usually either SSL or port related that is causing it ;)
