Can't find my files in finder

I am new to MAC and I don't know what I did to change the way my files appear in Finder. I used to press the Finder icon on the bottom of my screen and my files would appear as a list with the last date modified. Now I only see the hard drive components. Can anybody help? Thanks.

Hi Laura, welcome.

Click the Finder icon in your Dock (at the bottom of screen) and when the Finder window opens, hold down Command (⌘) and cycle through numbers 1 - 4 to find that view again.
