cant figure it out

i have macbook pro - Os x version 10.5.8,

in the above picture you can see that some of it is in english but a few lines aren't.when i select those sentences and paste them in word, they actually show up in english. im not only having this issue on my browsers but also on some of my desktop applications like my calender.

does anyone know what the issue is & why everything is not in english. i have already checked my fontbook for issues & cleared cache thru terminal application as that was suggested to me on another forum. nothing has helped.

Check that you are up-to-date through Software Update & does this occur when using Safari?

Did you try this:

In Firefox ~> Tools ~> Options ~> Content​

Locate the Advanced button under "Fonts & Colours"​

Uncheck the box that says "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selection above"​

hey,

that worked for my browser. thanks so much. i can at least browse properly now. but im still having the issue with my mac applications. any suggestions for that?

Have you tried removing the calendar from Dashboard then re-adding it?
