Cannot access APP Store on my 2011 iMac

In my attempt to upgrade my OS to Maverick, I learn that when clicking on the APP Store, I have no access. I have a similar issue accessing the iTunes Store. Cannot access that as well. My iMac is 2.7 GHz with an Intel Core i5 running OS x.7.5. Any recommendations would be welcome!

what do you mean by that? do you see the store? can you Sign in... via the the Store Menu?

I click the APP STORE icon, and a screen comes up that says "Cannot access the APP STORE". I can do nothing on the site. I have purchased many apps off this store in the past, but in recent months have been unable to access the store. Any idea you have might help. Thanks!

if you still can get through ring Apple Support they will sort it as its a store issue.

Some additional advice:

OS X: "Cannot connect" or "Cannot connect to the App Store. An internet connection is required"
