Hi, just upgraded from a High Sierra iMac to a new Monterey iMac and in the old High Sierra one I could boot to the desktop bypassing the login Password.

is it possible to do this in Monterey. (had my hand re-assembled after a power saw accident in 2007) so typing is a bit hard...

Should be able to. Go Sys Prefs>Users and Groups> and select your Account in the Sidebar, and then Login Options at the bottom. You will probably find that you have "Automatic login" set to Off. Just click on the arrows and choose your Account. It should then work.
