SOLVED Can I use a Mac desktop as a screen for a MacBook air?

Hi,
I have this old desktop and a new MacBook Air- can I use the desktop as a screen for my laptop?

Hello and welcome.

Unfortunately, not that model. Only a very few iMac models supported Target Display Mode, which allowed them to be used a secondary displays with other Macs. That looks like a 20"or 24" iMac (Mid-2009) or earlier.

The requirements are: Use your iMac as a display with target display mode
