Blank Discs Ejected

Whenever i put in a blank dvd-r it just ejects it. All other discs i have tried work fine. Plz Help.


Specs: Macbook 1.83 Ghz, 512mb Ram, 10.5

IF the above you wrote is your drive specifications, then there is your answer. Your drive handles CDs only, not DVDs.

Shouldn't it at least be able to read dvd-r's but not burn them.

Unfortunately not. Technology is very picky. Old CD drives only handle CDs, not DVDs.
