Black bar on next to dock

Hello, I just noticed a black bar that is next to my doc. It goes away when I do full screen and if the doc is hidden. I was wondering what it is, ie does it signify something, and if I can how do I make it go away?

You appear to be running Yosemite … I'm running Lion so all I can suggest is you could try restarting Finder.

Under the  in the upper left choose "Force Quit"

Choose Finder from the window that appears & click "Relaunch"

Had this last week, found out printopia that is in system preferences wanted updating. Have not seen the black line since. So can not 100% say what it donates.
