I have several .avi files that have stopped playing. Normally I would use my remote and scroll down to the folder they were in and click on them and they would play fine. I guess using the remote plays them in the DVD player? Now suddenly they are just a black screen and some have audio or audio that's broken up. I don't know what changed . The timer runs like the movies are playing but for the most part nothing is happening for audio or video. The files won't open in Quicktime at all.
If I open the DVD player and try and select any of the files they are all gray and cannot be selected.
I have an iMac (model indentifier is iMac 1,8) running 2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with OS 10.6.8.
You can tell by my OS that I haven't been able to upgrade it for a while so that's not the problem.
