Automator help and advice required for Newbie.

Hi all
Can anyone please help I am new to Automator and wondered if anyone out there has designed a workflow that would allow me to rename the files in a folder to be the given same name as the holding folder.
eg: 2files to be renamed inside my karaoke title folder .......

my karaoke title/ 12323.mp3 12323.cdg
after being renamed would become
my karaoke title/ my karaoke title.mp3 my karaoke title.cdg

Is this at all possible? I have looked at automator but do not think it has the capabilities to do this. Please prove me worng or is there a workaround?
I do not understand applescripts or how to make them but would love to learn. any help would be much appreciated.
