Looking to create what I believe would be a Folder Action Workflow. I want Automator to perform the following task every time I add a new PDF file into a set folder:

  • I add PDF to Folder
  • Automator automatically Composes a New Email
  • Automator puts in the recipient (same recipient each time)
  • Automator make the Email Subject the name of the file I added. (Not the path or folder name, just the name of the PDF)
  • Automator attaches that new PDF in the body of the email.
  • Automator Sends the Email.

Is this possible? I've been working on trying to find the right workflow, and I can't seem to get it right. It sounds easy enough, but I keep struggling. Any ideas?

Hello and welcome.

I believe that you can get this working with a combination of AppleScript and Automator. However, it's beyond my scope of knowledge. Maybe someone here with more experience will chime in.

You can also try this site of scripting gurus:

Hello everyone !

I am also interested in this solution.
I managed to get the file name in the subject OR the file in the attachements.
But not both at the same time as it only keeps the last "thing" copied in the clipboard...
