I use a 2006 MacBook Pro Intel Core Duo, OS 10.6.8. I was one of the last hold outs still using Tiger until recently switching to Snow Leopard. Since then, various .mov files will no longer play Apple Lossless codec audio specifically (the video is fine). This effects Qucktime 7.6.6, Quicktime 10.0, VLC player 0.9.10, iTunes, Final Cut, Soundtrack Pro, etc. and all other programs through which I have tried to play the files that were working in Tiger.
All the effected files were originally created with the program DVDRemaster 4.5, in which DVD's were converted to .mov files. (The audio converted through this program works fine for other codecs that are not Apple Lossless.)
I am assuming that some codec or driver got overwritten in the OS upgrade process, but am not very tech savvy.
Please help.
