App Store won't accept my ID and/or Password but....

I'm on a Mac mini M1.
OS: Sequoia 15.1.1

My Apple ID and Password work just fine when logging into the Apple website. I logged into the Apple website to verify my ID and Password work, but when I try to log into the Apple App Store it won't accept my ID and Password.

After trying a few times it asks me if I want to create a NEW password. Last time I used the App Store this happened and it ended up having me change BOTH my ID and Password. I have already changed the ID and Password to get into the App Store to tell the system to update my Affinity Software on my MacMini M1. I have no desire to have to create a NEW ID and Password every time I want to access the Apple App Store.

Am I alone in this conundrum?

Hi Nanette,

If you had purchased software under your old AppleID, then to upgrade the software you would need to use the old AppleID and password.

This is most likely why its not taking the new AppleID and password.
