I recently downloaded Microsoft, word, power point and others to see how they compared with other applications. Pages, notes & others.
Although I had used Microsoft word in the past, many years ago, I felt that the Mac equivalents were better.
I deleted all the applications from the app. folder and now every two or three days a Microsoft update reminder pops up.
I have searched all folders but can not find any reference to Microsoft files.
Any idea where I might locate them to trash?

You need to remove Microsoft AutoUpdate.app located in folder /Library/Application Support/Microsoft/MAU2.0

Using terminal you could use:

sudo rm -rf /Library/Application Support/Microsoft/MAU2.0/Microsoft\ AutoUpdate.app

(don't forget the \ )

You will also need to check your login items in System Settings and turn off various Microsoft items that run in the background.

When you wrote that you deleted the applications, did you simply move them to the Trash? You also need to remove all of the files and folders associated with those applications. To accomplish this, you will need a cleaner application such as AppCleaner.app to collect all these parts before trashing them.
