As you can see all of my symbols are gone! I can't see my wifi, time machine, home sharing, battery on my desktop and my backwards and forwards signs, share and add symbols are missing on safari. My finder symbols are all gone for airdrop, applications, documents etc. Does anyone know whats wrong? and if you do how can i get them back?

You could try "Force Quitting" Finder, which is accessed under  ~> Force Quit, that might shake things up a bit and restore all your icons. Otherwise:

  1. For Safari, Right-Click in the bar just to the right of the green maximise circle & choose "Customise Toolbar". Drag any icons you want onto the toolbar & vice-versa.
  2. For Favorites click on Finder in the menubar then "Preferences" then click on the Sidebar tab.
  3. For the blank boxes in the Finder window toolbar, just Right-Click the area & choose "Customise Toolbar". Drag anything onto or from the toolbar then click "Done".
  4. Look in System Preferences for "Show In Menubar" options for things like battery.
