Hi All,
So I have three macs working on an airport extreme. All machines are running 10.4.11. For some reason the newest and fastest machine (an intel based mac mini) is unbearably slow on the internet. Granted it is the farthest from the airport, but even though it shows a full signal, it is way slower than the other older machines(G4 Power PC and Intel-based mac book pro).
At the suggestion of someone on the Apple Discussion groups I Downloaded AP Grapher and got the following results but have no idea what they mean....
On the Mac Mini I get the following results
Signal: -68
Noise: -100
Best: -66
Avaialble: 100%
And the G4 PPC which is 5 feet form the airport I get...
Signal: 88
Noise: 49
Best: 92
Available: 92%
I also did a speed test at speakeasy.net so we could understand the full extent of the problem.
On my G4 PPC I tested at:
2927kbps Download speed
480Kbps Upload speed.
That seems reasonable
On mac mini I tested at
662Kbps download speed
The upload test timed out after achieving single digit speeds.
Anyone have any idea what is going on?
THanks - Drew
