Airplay 2 doesn't update iTunes plays count

Just a note: Apparently, Airplay 2 doesn't update iTunes plays count. If I'm playing a podcast or song on iTunes, and playing it on my HomePod, it doesn't mark as played.

Hmmm...I would think it does, as AirPlay did. Are all your devices running AirPlay 2?

This is not always broken, but some people claim it started with Airplay 2.
