Since I updated my Adobe flash my MacCleanse program comes up with an error at the end saying it does not have permission for a file called com.solidstatenetworks.host - I usually can delete any extra Adobe files but with this one I wish to delete I can't find it anywhere on my disc. My spotlight has been fully indexed I just can't see where it is to delete? Thanks.

Hello and welcome.

This file is simply a preference list for the Adobe Flash Installer. You can safely delete it. It is located here:

Macintosh HD > Users > yourusername > Library > Preferences > com.solidstatenetworks.host or com.solidstatenetworks.awkhost.plist

The easiest way to navigate there is in Finder, hold the Option key down while clicking on Go in the menu bar and selecting Library. In the window that comes up, open the Preferences folder, then delete the file/move it to the trash. It may ask for your password, enter it if it does. You can then empty the trash and you're all set.

Let us know if that doesn't work for you.

That's excellent, done it now thanks.

Very interesting, so is this a hidden user library folder? Any more info?

Previously it wasn't hidden, but since Lion was released, Apple has chosen to hide the user library folder. If you delete the wrong files, it could cause apps to not work properly, etc.

Glad it's sorted,

C
