Adobe Flash Player installation

I have a MacBook Pro. Version OS X. I downloaded Adobe Flash Player AND installed it many times in order to play videos by YouTube. when I go to YouTube, it asks me to get Adobe Flash Player to be able to play them. Im unsure what to do. can you please help me with this issue?
