Accidentally erased my memory stick in Disk Utility, can I recover??

Hi all,

When I inserted my memory stick into my macbook pro a message flashed up saying: “The Disk you inserted was not readable by the computer”.

I went online and found some instructions that said to erase it from disk utility, then turn the computer off/on again and the memory stick should be readable.

The memory stick is readable but completely empty! All my work has disappeared!

Is there anyway of getting it back?? I am really worried as it's super important work...

Sorry to say it's very doughtful, did you do a quick erase or secure erase? Might make a difference.

The secure erase takes some time as multiple passed happen.

Thanks for your quick response. i clicked erase, it didn't give me options but i assume it was quick erase as it only took seconds.

hope this is the better option?

Never used this but there is a free trial it is data recovery software, and is for Mac says it deals with USB sticks.

Once on the page click Mac then data recovery tools.
