ability to freeze desktop picture in High Sierra?

Dear Technical Wizards,

My desktop is composed of a thousand stunning photos which randomly change every 5 seconds. Is there a means of manually freezing the screen, perhaps with a 'hot key', whenever a particularly memorable picture appears? The OS is High Sierra.

Hello and welcome.

The Change picture function for Desktop is either on or off. There isn't any way to freeze it on a picture.
