80+ untitled files that can't be moved to trash from Mission Control

My husband is not a computer expert and he finds that he has more than 80 Pages documents that he did not save which he does not want but which he cannot get rid of. I went to Mission Control and got it to display all the application windows - these untitled files were all there in a grid but I could find no way of selecting them all and then moving them to trash. I think that is why his Mac is so slow but I am not that much of an expert myself!

I think what you are seeing is just a icon of recently opened files, if they haven't been saved then there is nothing to be done.

Other than that, open each one, click the red close button, click delete.
