2nd monitor will not display HELP!!!!

I have hooked up a 2nd monitor to my macbook. In the display settings it shows the monitor but nothing on the screen. I have used monitor on another computer worked fine.

how do I get this to display?

In the display settings it shows the monitor

So the problem is with the monitor end.

so the screen is blank, or does it have a desktop picture with no Menubar. If so and you want Mirroring, then turn on Mirroring in System Preferences > Displays, Else drag the Window you want onto that screen.

Nothing is displayed. I called apple and they said it might be the adapter. They had me do a command,option,p,r reset and after about 5 minutes the screen came on??? I tried to reset the screen size and it went blank.

I have no clue. I am using a rocket fish adapter.
