2017 MacBook Air with plenty of storage can't upgrade OS past Monterey

Any advice please? I am running macOS Monterey 12.76 on a 2017 MacBook Air with 8Gb Ram and 40GB free storage.
But I can't upgrade to beyond Monterey

I also own a 2017 MacBook Air in addition to my M1 machine. I have used OCLP to allow installation of later macOS versions but there are drawbacks such as newer features not working, performance, OS update issues, SIP changes possibly affecting security etc. In the end I reverted back to Monterey.
