2015 MBA slower than 2011

Bought refurb MBA early 2015 11” replaced MBA 2011 11”. 2015 runs deadly slower. Should be way faster? Devolution not what I expected.

1. What Mac OS does it have?
2. What size SSD (assuming it has an SSD)?
3. How much free space on the internal device?
4. Running any anti-virus software?
5. For potential future assistance, this is critical: are you making backups to an external device?

What a the specs of the respective machines?
Processor speed, number of cores, amount of RAM, SSD or mechanical drives.
Also which OS.
