I loaded the 10.11.3 Capitan update yesterday (20th Jan) and since then my MacBook Retina cannot load webpages. It will occasionally load a page but it might take ten minutes for this to complete and then links on the pages appear to be dead. The MacBook (2 years old approx) is fully up to date regards all software and was working perfectly until this update. Anyone else having this issue? Any suggestions about what might be causing it? Or how to fix it? There is nothing wrong with my internet connection - I' m using my iPad to post this message.

Hello and welcome.

I am not sure why that would happen.

-Will any browser load any websites?
-Did you perform the update via the App Store app?
-Do you have a Time Machine or other backup of your data?
-Do you have access to another Mac?

Besides the things Cory asked about:

1. What browser are you using?
2. Have you tried another browser?
3. Have you been performing any disk cleanup/maintenance at all?

The backup question Cory asked is important, as if you have bene making backups to an external device, there could be a way to repair your internal drive on the MacBook.

I also upgraded both of my machines the other day to OS 10.11.3, but I did not do it through the App Store. I downloaded the Combo Updater and applied it, and I am not having any issues at all.

Thanks for the replies Cory and honestone. The problem was ESET Security Pro. ESET has now updated it's software to comply with the Apple update. Apple updates have never troubled my security software before so I was thrown for a while. All sorted now, though. Cheers, TopShelf.

Yes, to echo what Cory said, glad you got everything sorted out. I actually updated last week to OS 10.11.3 (via the Combo Updater), and fortunately, all of my third party software still works as is (a new version of Onyx did come out yesterday, but that was not for OS 10.11.3 compatibility). But yeah, even with an"incremental" update, there could be issues with third party software.
