I'm running an older Mac Pro and have no tones..just a steady flashing of the status light..No intervals..just steady flashes about a second apart. This started after a power outage but this computer has been through many power interuptions and always has rebooted by it's self.....My first thought was the power supply but I just tried another one and get the same thing...I have tried all the resets..pram..unpluging etc..No response..no tones..just the flashing light...I even called Apple and the guy I talked to had no idea..didn't charge me either.......Any one who might have an idea please .et me know....Important "stuff" on it...Many thanks......windsail....

So are you saying that whenever you reboot your 2008 Mac Pro just goes straight into sleep mode & won't wake up?

What OS version do you have installed?

Have you tried booting up from the Leopard disc?
